Plus, I haven't painted many horses and was wanting to get some practice with them.

I like the aluminum surface very much but have always prefers a hard support. It's more difficult for me to paint on a bouncy surface. The glare is very distracting though which is a shame as I like the pure metal for the background.Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16350902981447054779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7331369532232746879.post-89113848872359949312018-10-14T09:25:53.720-07:002018-10-14T09:25:53.720-07:00I admire your enthusiasm to try all these differen...I admire your enthusiasm to try all these different surfaces and techniques.

I see what you mean about the crackling in close up view ... shame it didn't do that all over as its quite an interesting effect.

Despite the problems with heat set oils it seems you quite liked the surface? I have worked on copper but not the aluminum. Happy you showed a way to get those sharp edges taken care of. Anyway, I do know that I will try using it.
I liked your raven painting very much and I liked the version with the more active background - it suited the enegy of the raven. juliefordoliver.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07186754679744000743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7331369532232746879.post-5616433559391639102018-09-23T19:44:21.565-07:002018-09-23T19:44:21.565-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.juliefordoliver.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07186754679744000743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7331369532232746879.post-31644099003105693382018-09-23T19:43:40.345-07:002018-09-23T19:43:40.345-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.juliefordoliver.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07186754679744000743noreply@blogger.com
